Well-known Christian evangelist and ordained minister Billy Graham has died at age 99. Graham was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1989 and was treated for cancer, persistent pneumonia and other ailments in recent years.
Graham is considered one of the most influential preachers of our time, reaching millions through his radio and television shows and numerous books.
He was an outspoken advocate for racial equality and integration, and worked alongside Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the 1950s and 1960s. He also served as a spiritual advisor to nearly a dozen American presidents.
Graham’s wife of 64 years passed away in 2007. He is survived by five children and 19 grandchildren.
