It’s been just over a year since Matt Lauer was fired as host of NBC’s Today amidst sexual misconduct allegations, and sources say he continues to keep a low profile, focusing all his energy on his three children.
“He doesn’t sit around thinking about a comeback,” a source close to the disgraced newsman says. “He’s trying to get by putting all his energy into his kids.”
Lauer is still living on the family’s Hamptons compound with estranged wife Annette Roque, with whom he shares sons Jack, 17, and Thijs, 11, and daughter Romy, 14. Divorce proceedings are ongoing.
“All he wants is to be involved in his kid’s lives,” says a second source. “He spends his days doing as much kids stuff as he can.”
